There were restrictions for travelers for more than 30 months of COVID-19. As per the announcement by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted all restrictions and precautionary measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This came into action at 6 am on Monday, i.e. November 7, 2022.

This step was taken after analyzing the situation in the country from occupancy rates in hospitals and intensive care for COVID-19 cases.

Ease in COVID-19 restrictions are as follows:

  •       No green pass is required to enter public places
  •       Al Hosn App use will be limited and to proof of vaccination and test results inside and outside the country     upon request only
  •       Wearing masks will be optional in all open and closed facilities unless in health facilities and centers.

Despite the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions:

  •       COVID-19 PCR testing and treatment facilities will continue as per usual
  •       A five-days isolation period is necessary for a patient infected with COVID-19
  •     Organizers of sports activities require PCR tests or vaccination certificates to participate in or attend their events.
