The first step is to find the airline baggage desk at the airport. If your entire trip was with a single airline i.e. Delta then it is an easy process. On the other hand, if you were on a connecting itinerary with more than one airline then you need to claim with the operating carrier of your last flight.

Here are three main cases when you can’t find your bags:

  • Delayed Baggage: If your Delta baggage is delayed then please immediately report and notify the airline representatives. You will get a file reference number after applying for a claim or investigating your items.
  • Damaged Baggage: As soon as your baggage is received to you make sure you check it properly. If you have received damaged baggage then contact the Delta representatives immediately. How long does Delta keep searching for my lost baggage?
