Air India took the title of most punctual airline in October

As per data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Air India was the most punctual airline in the country last month. This is the first time in eight years that Air India has occupied that position. Performance is rising extraordinarily after The Tata Group acquired Air India and Air India Express in January.

 

With a record of on-time performance (OTP) of 90.8%, Air India holds first position.

 

The record was calculated for four metro airports i.e. Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. The calculation was made based on the percentage of flights that arrived or departed at the gate under 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival or departure time.

 

  • Air India reported an on-time performance of 87.1% in September and significantly increased to 90.8% in October.
  • Vistara and AirAsia stood at the second spot with an on-time performance of 89.1% in October compared that was 91% in September.
  • The largest budget carrier, IndiGo took the third position with an on-time performance record of 87.5%.
  • Indigo was followed by Alliance Air with an on-time performance of 74.5%.
  • Then SpiceJet took its position with an on-time performance record of 68.9%.
  • Go FIRST airline continued to be the least punctual for the second month in a row with a 60.7%.
